#my brother's keeper part 5

♠️ How strange is it for Ea-Nasir to have kept so many of his complaints? A large part of the hearstory about Ea-Nasir here on tumblr is that the room of tablets of complaints he kept was abnormal, with the usual inference being that he was an egotistic scoundrel reveling in the displeasure of his clientele.

I'm sorry for taking so long to answer this question! I thought it would be much easier to answer than it was, haha.

This is the original archaeologist, Woolley's, original map (left), from Woolley, 1931. I've overlain the map with different colors (right), (mine) to hopefully alleviate confusion. [1]

What is known as Ea-Nasir's house, is called No. I Old Street (Grey). The main entrance is Grey-Room 1, which opens to an open courtyard. Grey-Room 5 and Grey-Room 6 both contain altars. Grey-Room 4 is small, beneath a staircase, and contains a drain. The courtyard also contains a drain and a earthen "box" near a kitchen area in Grey-Room 7. The only definitive context we have for a tablet addressed to Ea-Nasir is the one found near this box, in the doorway between Room 2 and 7. [2]

Tablet 16089a (or UET V 29) reads: "Speak to Ea-Nasir: Thus says Muhaddum with regard to the ingots: the sealed tablet of your companions has just 'departed' to you. Now Saniqum and Ubaiatum have gone to come before you. If you are truly my brother, send somebody with them, and the ingots which are at your disposition may be given to them." [translation: Leemans, 1960] [3]

The lack of definitive context is due to lack of cards and Woolley's need to fire the tablets before their reading/publishing [4]. Either the cards were actually lost, or, potentially, misattributed due to the amount of damage to Straight Street No. III (yellow) [5]. If you look up the descriptions of tablets mentioning Ea-Nasir [6], by name on UrOnline, most of them say, "House IV/Old Street No. I".

So that said, there are several notable features of No. I Old Street (grey) and No. III Straight Street (yellow)'s formal house descriptions [7].

Grey-Room 5, Grey-Room 6, and G-Y-Room 10 are all altar rooms. Typically, each house has one altar room. Two is unusual. Three is extremely strange.

No. I Old Street (grey) is extremely old, and the walls stayed relatively consistent.

The long Grey-Room 3 hallway originally connected to the purple and red rooms houses, but these were sold and bricked off.

No. III Straight Street (yellow) was "much ruined" and consistently remodeled, also younger than the boundary walls of Church St. No. III (orange) and Straight St. No. V (teal) [5, 2].

The half-walls of Yellow-Room 13 acted as three open sheds. Yellow-Room 9 was a kitchen, Yellow-Room 3 was a stairwell and drain, and Yellow-Room 4 was a bedroom. The door between the courtyard (Y-2) and "guest room" (Y-G-6) was larger than usual too, and the wall was built with brick mud and matting between the bricks to give a thick structure, unusual in private buildings.

Yellow-Grey-Room 10 was another altar with an incense room and chimney behind it (Y-G-11).

The position of the rooms with drains, G-2, G-4, Y-G-5, and Y-3 are all near altars or kitchens, including G-2 which is near the kitchen of G/Red-7.

Overall, even though Ea-Nasir's tablets might have been found here (which we can't be sure of, because the cards have been lost or misattributed), I think the shape, age, and abnormality of "Ea-Nasir's House" is important. None of the rooms in grey were described as or seem to be a bedroom, excepting the rooms that were sold and bricked off (red and purple).

Straight St. No. III that does seem to function as a house (kitchen, drain, second story, bedroom), clearly has access to the altars but with separation between them.

Because of the lack of tablet context and general abnormality, I don't think this means Straight St. No III was Ea-Nasir's house or he was an altar-keeper. Y-G-6, G-3, Y-8, or the upper floors could be used for tablet storage, but Woolley doesn't mention caches of tablets (or fallen tablets) in either location, while he does for No. VII Church Street (red) [8]. If the cards are misattributed and "House IV" means "House III" or another location, then we also have to reconcile the artifacts at that location which might have nothing to do with Ea-Nasir, or are also missing their artifact cards. And other than finding the cards, we might never know.

So at the very least, from the previous write-up, where Ea-Nasir is a man working closely to the temple, prioritizing the state's copper over private business orders, I think the little context we do have reflects that. That one tablet is not in an unusual location- It was delivered to the step of a religious area where the message would either be kept or eventually given to its intended recipient.

Roger Barel Main Route - Chapter 9

As usual, can’t guarantee 100% accuracy on this. I’m doing this for archiving purposes and you can probably find a better translation out there.

Roger: A collar of course. You’ve now been promoted from dogsbody to pet. Congrats.

Kate: Thank you! This is a cute collar…Hm, collar? Wait, didn’t I tell you to stop treating me like a dog?

(Geez, it’s such a lovely choker. A collar…)

When I glared at him and pouted, he just stared back with a pleased smile.

(...Roger reminds me of me of an innocent boy when he smile)

His usually tense, thick brows were relaxed, and his parted lips revealed his canines.

Why does seeing him smile make me feel happy too?

Since becoming Roger’s exclusive Fairytale Keeper, I haven’t been feeling anxious or confused. 

(Even if he’s teases me, I have someone with me, watching my growth)

(It makes it all worth it, and motivates me to work harder)

Regardless, I’m happy with the changes I’ve been going through during my time with Roger.

(No doubt Roger’s getting to know me better with the time we spend together)

Kate: Roger, um…Can I get one more reward?

Roger: Oh, that’s rare coming from someone who tends to be reserved. Go ahead and say it.

Kate: The more time we spend together, the more I wonder why you chose to be with Crown. And then I start to wonder what you’re even researching at this point. That’s why, I want to know the reason why…

Roger: Are you asking as my exclusive Fairytale Keeper, or for your own personal interest?

Amber eyes expose my heart.

Kate: …Probably both.

As Fairytale Keeper, I record his “sins” as a Cursed One.

As for myself, personally— 

I wanted to know what made my chest throb sometimes.

I definitely had an interest in Roger.

But I couldn’t say what kind of interest.

Kate: Still, I don’t want to overstep any boundaries, like a past you don’t want to talk about. If you don’t want to, then we can forget…

Roger: Pfft, haha. You really are a sincere one. Sure, I got nothing to hide. Summarizing it would be a pain, so hope you don’t mind a long story.

You’re going to tell me?

We have a long trip back.

Kate: I don’t mind. Please tell me about you, Roger.

Roger: In that case, let me tell you a story for our ride back to London.

With that, his long tale began.

—Unlike the train that’s moving us forward, Roger’s story takes us back into the past.

Roger: My old man’s a doctor, you’ve met him before. So for as long as I could remember, going to his clinic’s been part of my daily routine. I’m the eldest of 5 brothers and sisters. That’s probably why my dad relied on me a lot. Before I knew it, I wanted to be a doctor.

(In the beginning, I did get the impression that Roger was like an older brother…)

Kate: So you’re the eldest sibling. No wonder you’re so good at looking after others… What were you like as a kid?

Roger: Haven’t really changed. I was a brat with a thirst for knowledge that’d steal my old man’s medical books and charts. Maybe it’s because he also did as he pleased, but he was a pretty tolerant guy. Most of the time, he’d laugh it off. However, I remember getting a real tongue lashing when I tried to read a certain piece of research without asking.

Kate: And that piece of research was…

Roger: “About Cursed Ones”.

Cursed Ones—A term I hadn’t even heard of until a few weeks ago, but am now familiar with.

Had I not stumbled upon them that night—I would never have known.

(Roger learned about it from his father’s clinic…)

Kate: But only a few people know that Cursed Ones exist, right?

That information is regulated, and both the existence of them and Crown is kept from the public.

(I became a Fairytale Keeper because I knew…)

Roger: My old man’s “a part” of that world. Well, he probably “noticed” while examining a patient.

Kate: …I see. Doctors do examine a variety of people. When your father scolded you, it was because it was information that shouldn’t be known to the public. He tried to keep it a secret from you.

Roger: Yeah. A kid’s curiosity’s dreadful. So I went and read everything I could about Cursed Ones without my old man knowing. Should’ve locked that all up in a safe. He’s disorganized.

Kate: …That’s how you had free access to medical books and charts. I mean, hehe, you’ve been the same since you were a kid.

Roger: I guess. Now onto the main part of the story. When I was nearly done reading through all the research on Cursed Ones. It got to the point where I wanted to meet the author of a document, “Alexander Taylor”. In my search, I found that he was formerly a doctor at Gracefield Royal Hospital. Turns out he was my old man’s coworker.

Kate: When you say formerly, do you mean he left the hospital?

Roger: Yeah. Not sure why.

Kate: Is that how you found him?

Roger: Found him sooner than I thought. When he left the Royal Hospital, my old man rented the Barel family conservatory in the outskirts out to him. I found out he was doing some research by himself there.

“Alexander Taylor” left the Royal Hospital to continue his own research on Cursed Ones.

The more I heard about him, the more my imagination grew.

Kate: Then you…

Roger: Yeah, of course I went to see him. It was late at night, after my old man went to bed. I snuck out by myself.

~~ Flashback ~~

—The conservatory was empty and filled with silence.

Except for a young man in a white lab coat named Alexander Taylor, who was researching Cursed Ones all alone.

Roger: My name is Roger Barel. I’m the eldest child of the Barel family. I’m interested in your research, so let’s be friends.

Alec: …Yeah, go home okay?

Roger: Ah, haha…so that’s how it is. Well I didn’t think this would be easy, but it’s worth the challenge.

Alec: …You’re an annoying kid.

Every time I visited him, he’d turn me away.

However, when Alec realized I knew about Cursed Ones, he gave up and took me in.

Alec: You’re so persistent…

Roger: Yeah, I’m the kind of guy that’ll do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Alec: *sigh* I know. I give up. You can visit me here as long as you promise me one thing.

Roger: Yeah, I will! So from today on, we’re friends!

Being friends with him made me happier than I thought.

I grabbed Alec’s hand and swung it around.

That was the first time I saw him smile.

Alec: Heh, okay. We’re friends now. Nice to meet you little doctor.

Roger: After that, I started spending a lot of time with Alec at the conservatory. He was my first friend.

There was affection in his voice as he muttered nostalgically. 

Roger: Even though I was a kid, I knew Alec was a very brilliant man. That’s why I couldn’t understand why he left the Royal Hospital. I was skeptical that he was just doing research on Cursed Ones, hidden away in a conservatory.

~~ Flashback ~~

There was a time when I asked him— 

Roger: Hey, Alec. Why are you researching Cursed Ones in a place like this? They’re born all around the world, but hard to come by. Wouldn’t it have been better to do something like establish a treatment center for cancer since it’s incurable? Then the world would know just how talented you are!

Alec: Perhaps. But I’m willing to throw my position, reputation, and money away for this research.

As he said that, he looked off into the distance with a sad look.

Alec: Someone might eventually find a cure for cancer…but I’m certain no one would find one for curses. The voices of the minority tend to get drowned out. That’s why I have to listen carefully.

Roger: Hmm. You’re great for working so hard for others.

Alec: I’m not that good of a person, Roger. I just don’t want my soul to rot away.

~~ End Flashback ~~

Roger: Whenever I went to see Alec, it was always at an appointed time. He didn’t let me come by at any other time. There was a day when I went to see him at the appointed time…But no matter how long I wanted, he never came back. …So I just kept waiting.

Roger’s lips drew tight as if to swallow back his hoarse voice.

Kate: …Something happened.

Roger: Yeah. Alec burst into the conservatory with police after him.

~~ Flashback ~~

Suddenly, the door to the conservatory was thrown open.

Alec: Roger…Why. I thought you went home.

Roger: …Alec, what’s with the police? What’s wrong, what happened?

Police with black hair: Alexander Taylor, former doctor of the Royal Hospital, you are under arrest for being the prime suspect in organ trafficking!

Roger: Organ trafficking? Alec? Alec would never do something like that…!

Police with brown hair: What’s with this child? Is he involved in some way?

Police with black hair: Let’s bring this kid in as a witness.

The police officer reached out for me.

Roger: Stop it.

Alec: …

Alec—he saved me by touching the top of the police officers’ heads.

In an instant, their hands were smacked together.

As if in prayer.

Police with brown hair: W-what? I can’t move my hands apart…

Roger: …Special ability… Alec…you’re…a Cursed One?

Police with black hair: M-monster! Hey, kid with glasses, do you have anything to do with this?

Roger: Of course. Alec’s my fr—

Alec: …Roger. …Our promise?

Roger: Ah.

Alec: You can visit me here as long as you promise me one thing.

Roger: Promise?

Alec: If anyone asks about our relationship, reply with this. “We’re not friends. That person and I are complete strangers.���

Roger: What’s with that weird promise? Well, I guess it’s embarrassing to be friends with a kid like me.

Alec: …Yeah, let’s go with that. Promise me, Roger.

I was a child then, but I realized the meaning of that promise.

Roger: T-that person…and I… “We’re not friends. That person and I are complete strangers.”

Nya Jiang-The Omnipotent Guardian.

While the Fire Ninja turned into The Conqueror through insanity and his insecurities, his sister, the Water Ninja fell from grace in a different manner.

The Green One focused more on her guilt, grief and shame. Causing her to lose focus the moment her brother turned to evil.

Feeling guilty for causing the loss of her brother, The Water Ninja lost all ability to focus during one of her missions, upon which she encountered her brother and lost.

Being thrown into the sea, many believe she drowned in her own element, however few already knew the aftermath.

Once sunken into the deep sea, the Green One tried to tempt The Water Ninja beckoning her to join his side, slowly he began to drown her, bargaining her own life, in an act of desperation, The Water One became one with the Sea once more…

Due to the fight for control, a portion of the Water Ninja’s soul remained intact and unaffected by the transformation. Now in the deep depths of the sea, she rules with an iron fist, signaling out outsiders who dared to enter her domain.

The original inhabitants fled to the Sea when The Green One fell, causing them to worship her as a benevolent Sea Guardian.

And so…with a heavy heart, she guards the sea with all her might, tearing away those who dared trespass into the dark depths of the Ocean.

This took me a long time due to my endless search for references and design ideas (Still not final on the throne) but finally I was able to do her.

So for Nya I decided to bring back Seabound her but mix it in with the DTIYS I saw a few months back that held the inspiration of Nya going evil and getting control over Merlopia.

For me, it was hard to make Nya turn evil without brainwashing her or making her too bland, so I decided with this twist.

Funnily enough, only The Jiang Siblings actually wear armor in the Ninjago Villain AU and that was a complete accident.

For the purposes of this AU almost every single Ninja gets a complete power buff so they’ll be able to do things in a much grander scale than ever before. For Nya this instance she can make it so you can breathe underwater.

She believes every single Ninja or anyone from the surface world is either corrupted or dead which is why she doesn’t care who ends up coming up to her shore, they just die. Most notably she and Lloyd have the same goal except for Nya she has a plan to drown literally everyone on the surface and remake it into Ninjago 2.0 (Aka bring it back to when Ninjago only had two inhabitants with The Merlopians and The Keepers)

Sh doesn’t move from her throne, but you bet that she’s listening if you are one of the lucky ones who end up living in her waters.

Alright, gonna rattle off some Hazbin Hotel theories just to get them out of my system:

1) The Key that Lilith gave Charlie is the key to the pearly gates, aka a way into heaven. Which is why the cat didn't like Sir Pretentious until he was redeemable and why the key is the symbol used to depict the hotel on both the logo of the show and the logo on the hotel.

2) Lilith didn't just abandon everyone to vacay in heaven. Following my previous theory, she already had the key to heaven (likely given to her by Adam as a 'please come back 🥺🥺🥺' gift). From Charlie's recounting of the story, her mom loves hell and thrives down there so I'm really not buying this whole 'retire in heaven as Adam's rebound' thing. I'm going to say that Lilith infiltrated heaven under the guise of taking back Adam and being 'the good wife' again but she is 100% using her access to heaven to pull strings and get her grand plan going. She may have to keep Lute happy next season to keep her access, but it's not because she's a turncoat, it's because she's got motives.

3) Throwing this out there: I think it has something to do with Eve! I haven't even met Eve yet but I ship Eve and Lilith. Maybe Adam had Eve locked up somewhere and Lilith is trying to free her or, maybe Eve disappeared, hence why Adam wanted a new wife and Lilith is trying to find her or something.

4) Carmilla is Eve. Yeah, so the name Carmilla means 'Garden or Orchid', Carmine means 'Song or Crimson Red', she looks EXACTLY like Lilith except with a different color palette (and she's wearing angel steel ballet shoes and gloves), she styles her hair up to look like horns but she doesn't actually have any of her own, she killed an angel, she knew all about angel weaknesses and how to kill them, she figured out how to reforge angel steel into new weapons, and, most importantly, SHE HAS TWO KIDS THAT SHE IS VERY PROTECTIVE OF.

Now, part of me wants to say that Zestial, the confirmed oldest sinner in Hell, the super powerful demon that rules over the other overlords who cares immensely about Carmilla and vice versa, is actually Cain. Cain, aka Eve's son and the first murderer (and theologically rumored to be Lucifer's child which uhhhhh, the show kinda seems to be hinting at with Lucifer implying that him and Eve had a thing?) So yeah, I like the idea that Carmilla loves her son despite his flaws and is trying to keep him safe in hell (knowing that Abel is completely fine in heaven)

But I also kinda want to say that Odette is Abel and Clara is Cain? Look, Odette is wearing a headband with demon horns sticking out of it. Her horns look fake. Also, come on, Odette and Clara?? As in the lead characters from Swan Lake and the Nutcracker?? I'm not going to get into why renaming Cain after Clara from the NUTCRACKER is hilarious as it's pretty obvious. But renaming Abel after Odette, the princess with wings who literally dies and ends up in heaven at the end of the play, is also pretty obvious ngl. So I do also kinda think that Eve and Abel were chilling in heaven and then either Abel fell or Eve got word about the annual culling of sinners, and the two of them took on fake names and reunited with Cain/Clara. Eve is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her children safe and, while she does not like participating in violence, she will kill to protect her daughters. (And potentially Zestial is Clara's father? As Cain is rumoured to be either Lucifer's child or a demon's child)

EDIT: Okay I literally just realized that in the song "Whatever it Takes" she hugs her daughters and says that she will "be their keeper" which is a play on what Cain said to God after killing Abel. God asked where Abel was and Cain said "I am not my brother's keeper." So Carmilla in that song is vowing to keep her daughters safe by preventing war with heaven and being "their keeper".

5) Adam created all of the Exorcists from his ribs. Adam mentioned that he named Vaggie which either implies that Adam is Vaggie's father or that Adam created the entire Exorcist race. Considering Lilith and Eve were both created from Adam's ribs, all the Exorcists are women, they're called 'sisters', and all of them are bone white with 'angel blood' gold eyes, I think the dude just straight up made them all with his bones! Adam even offered a plate of ribs to Charlie when he was taunting her about killing off her citizens!

For further comment, here is my own son, Augustus." PANEL 2: Perry interviews Gus, who is grinning with excitement. "Augustus, is it true you've encountered this human before?" "Yeah!" exclaims Gus, "She snuck into the school and now she's my friend! Her name is Luz!" PANEL 3: "Now that they're together, I can see…" says Belos. "It's them." With a point of his finger, he conjures hologram-like illusions of Luz and Lillith, who stand in the throne room facing them, with their names above their heads. "I don't understand," says Caleb. PANEL 4: The illusions have transformed into Luz and Lilith in their disguises from "Elsewhere and Elsewhen." The names over their heads have changed to "Luzura" and "Aunt Dirtrude." PANEL 1: A profile view of Caleb, quietly sad. "I see," he says. "And this human attacked a witch in a duel." PANEL 2: But then he turns and brings a hand to his chin in thought. "But… the boy called her his friend?" "Either a cunning ploy, or she is… struggling to find her way," responds Belos. "Either way, she isn't ready to face a witch." PANEL 3: A view of footage from the news report, projected by the crystal ball. In a moment from the episode "Convention," Eda exposes the power glyph used on Amity while Luz looks on in surprise. Belos continues to speak off screen. "If it wasn't for the Owl Lady's intervention, she would have sorely lost." "The Owl Lady protected her?" Caleb asks. "Yes, it appears my suspicions were correct." PANEL 4: "The portal door has reappeared, in the hands of another one of your blasted Clawthornes." A close-up of Belos against a totally black background, his face shadowed. One hateful eye gleams from behind his mask. PANEL 5: A close-up of Caleb staring up at him, also shadowed against black. PANEL 1: A close-up of Belos glowering dangerously over his shoulder, lit by the broadcast from behind. "No?" PANEL 2: Caleb sweats. "I mean. Philip, don't you think it'll look suspicious to show too much interest in a human?" PANEL 3: Caleb takes Belos hand, clutching him imploringly. "Not to mention the possibilities of meddling in the time-line. It's too risky." Belos isn't looking at him anymore. He looks ahead at the illusion of Luz, whose back is to us in the foreground. His expression is unreadable. PANEL 4: A high angle shot of Belos and Caleb watching Luz's illusion. Caleb still clings to Belos. Luz's illusion is alone now, staring at them blankly as she stands at the far end of the throne room. "Yes," Belos agrees, "I fear it's too early to intervene. It seems the Lord is testing her." PANEL 5: "For now," he continues off screen, "she will have to face the temptations of this realm on her own." A close-up of Caleb, letting out a breath of relief. PANEL 6: Caleb's eyes snap open. Belos' hand has come up to brush his cheek. PANEL 7: Belos pulls Caleb into a hug. Caleb's face over Belos' shoulder is drawn in supressed, silent horror, cast in deep shadows, as Belos murmurs to him reassuringly. "Don't worry, Caleb. The Owl Lady will be taken care of. No one spoke at breakfast. The tension in the air between Rhysand and Azriel was at a breaking point. The two had been heard arguing with each other early in the morning while Cassian stood there and tried to play middle ground.

Kaylee poked the eggs in front of her. Glancing up at Amren every so often as the ancient female studied her as if she was an old textbook written in some unknown tongue. Her gaze flicked to Cassian, and the general smiled softly at her before pushing fruits her way and taking the eggs. "Did my mate give you permission to take her food or were you just feeling entitled to it?"

Kaylee sighed. "I don't like eggs, Az. He's been eating my eggs for a few weeks now." She felt his discomfort down the bond. Another thing his brothers got to learn while he was being forced to play the part of her sisters' keeper.

He was angry. Beyond angry. He was being forced to make a sacrifice and guard Elain and Nesta while his own mate was burying her pain and feelings so deep within herself he thought she'd explode.

Silence fell back over the table, leaving the door open for that heavy tension to set in again. Kaylee felt a pressure in her mind, as if something that shouldn't be there was forcing it's way to her. Rhys shifted uncomfortably. "Kaylee. Stop."

"I'm not doing it on purpose."

"I know," he sighed. "Just think of your powers like a faucet and turn the faucet off."

Kaylee tried. But something kept reaching for her, calling to her like a siren spell, and her magic locked in on it. Cassian froze at the sight of her, eyes glowing white as she began to almost radiate, at the same time, Azriel froze, eyes going almost black as his head tilted to the side. "Uh, Rhys?"

Amren paused her drink, looking between the two mates before chuckling. "Well, that solves that mystery. Azriel has a beast form."

Rhys was in Kaylee's mind, searching for a way to pull her from accidentally bonding to a centuries old creature his own brother had not even had touch with, but that bond, that damned and blessed mating bond, blocked him. Rhys closed his eyes, knowing there was only one other option to stop them from completing the connection. "Azriel, I am commanding you as your High Lord to leave for the House of Wind at once."

Kaylee fell unconscious as the connection severed, Azriel immediately holding his mate's face as her nose bled. "What the fuck just happened?!"

Rhys stood, moving between Azriel and Kaylee. "She found your beast form. It would appear after a millenia without a tamer, every form of beast is anxious to have a fae who speaks for them and their well-being." Rhys took a napkin, gingerly cleaning Kaylee's nose before motioning for Cassian to take her.

"Until she has control, Azriel. It's best if you stay in the House of Wind. Amren and I can push her out. You-"

"I will not be banned from seeing my mate," the growl he released had shadows clashing against starlit darkness, siphons beginning to glow as their wearer's mind and magic prepared for battle.

Rhysand rose a brow, "So you will risk all of us and her? If she makes you shift for the first time and your beast kills her, what will you do, Azriel?"

Azriel growled again as Cassian protectively held Kaylee away from him and backed up. "Give me my mate, Cassian."

Amren came between the two then, silver eyes a flame. "Touch her and you toy at the risk of sealing that connection, boy. Listen to Rhysand and think of her. Not yourself."

It was a stab in Azriel's stomach, his brows knitting together as he backed away from them in anger. "She's all I think of," he said firmly but quietly. "She needs me just as much as Nesta and Elain seem to think they do." He disappeared then, swallowed whole by shadows and gone from the Riverhouse.

Kaylee woke up alone and afraid, tugging the bond the way Azriel told her to whenever she needed him. She was met with silence. No soft tugs back, no wave of comfort. She stood on shaking legs, trying to remember what happened as she drank the water the house provided.

She remembered Rhysand's beast trying to speak with her. A great powerful thing with large wings and talons. She remembered telling him Rhys wanted her to get out and the creature's great huff of annoyance like he was no more than a frustrated cat wishing to has his way.

Then she was trapped by something else, and it wanted much more from her. Another winged beast, dripping darkness like ichor. It had not let her see it, just its imposing figure as it pinned her below it and stared down at her.

Her eyes grew wide when she remembered what it growled. Mate. She tugged the bond again desperately, praying to every fae God he would answer. It was a cold knife to her heart when he left her in silence.

Rhys stood and watched as the stag nudged Kaylee, then rested his large head on her shoulder as if he was hugging her. She wasn't okay. He could feel her turmoil tearing her mind and heart apart. They had been training for hours now, her practicing warging into the beast, their communication, their emotional link. Rhys now knew of several areas of the forest that had been plagued by evil. He knew of areas where food and resources were lacking. He knew what he could do to restore those areas and had begun drafting out plans.

He walked to the stag and Kaylee, scratching the stag behind his ear and then placing a hand gently on Kaylee's back. "Are we content with today?" The stag seemed to nod and gently pushed Kaylee into Rhysand's waiting arms. "Let's go get some food for you, little one."

Cassian greeted them, nodding as he stirred stuff into the soup he was making. "How was our antlered friend?" Kaylee shrugged, her eyes still looking wide and lost. She went upstairs, leaving Rhys and Cassian alone in the kitchen. "She needs him. We either take her up there or bring them here, Rhys."

Rhys rose a brow. "She needs the woods."

Cassian didn't argue, tightening his lips into a line. "We're going to lose Azriel if you aren't careful, Rhysand. You know this is all he's ever wanted."

Rhysand sighed taking the seat across from Cassian. "Do you remember when I accidently shifted for the first time? The damage and hurt I caused." Cassian closed his eyes, nodding at the painful reminder. "I've had centuries to be one with my beast. Azriel didn't even know he had one. If he shifts and hurts her in anyway, we will lose him for not protecting her. We are damned if we do, damned if we don't."

2 weeks.

Kaylee had not seen Azriel in two weeks. And now he stood in the living room, a redheaded male in hand and Feyre in Rhysand's arms. The two couldn't stop staring at each other. Eyes locked in need, love, and desperation.

Cassian cleared his throat at the scent of the bond between Azriel and Kaylee and Rhysand and Feyre. He shot the new male, one Kaylee was blocking from her memory, a sympathetic look before motioning for him to follow outside, and Azriel doing the same to Kaylee. "Kaylee, Lucien," Cassian said once they were outside. "Lucien, Kaylee."

"You were there," she whispered. "You were with Tamlin."

He nodded. His beautiful face changed. "We didn't know. I promise on my life we did not know."

"I believe you." They all paused as a shift in the trees came. A large hawk came and landed on Lucien's shoulder, head cocked before flying to Kaylee and resting in her arms.

Lucien stared between the two, then looked to Cassian and Azriel. The wild life around this house was extensive. Thriving. The woods themselves sang songs of joy and healing. He studied the littlest sister, seeing her magic giving and taking. "Dangerous powers. Nature is a cruel lover. She tends to take and take and you do not see the give back right away." Lucien came close to her, stroking the hawk on his feathered head. "The last female with your powers was drained so much by the lands and wildlife, she ran into the woods of Autumn one night never to be seen again. There's children's stories and campfire legends about her."

Azriel growled, causing Lucien to shoot him a look. "Has she bonded to Rhysand's beast yet? Typically the tamers and their High Lord's beasts are quite close."

Cassian shook his head. "We're going to the House of Wind," it was firm, ending the conversation regarding Kaylee's progress before it could start. "Az, you got Kay?"

The shadowsinger nodded, pulling Kaylee close to him and smiling slightly as she giggled and the hawk flew away. They were in the air in seconds, her nuzzled into Azriel's neck, taking in his scent and covering him in hers like a kitten.

Cassian shot a look to Lucien. "Do not bring up Rhysand and Kaylee's bond in front of Azriel again. Please. I would prefer not to have to clean up another fight between them."

"It's not a romantic bond or sexual?"

Cassian nodded, agreeing and thankful the new connection Rhysand had allowed Kaylee to make was solely business. "But we all know how… Animalistic and protective males are of their mates. Azriel believes what they have is beyond sacred. Kaylee potentially losing herself to-" Cassian rolled his eyes with a smirk as the first noises came from the house and picked Lucien up. "There have been signs already, Lucien. Hopefully having someone from the Court Tamers typically are born into will help."

The dinner was silent. Rhys and Feyre sitting at the heads of the table, Lucien across from Kaylee, freshly bathed and in impeccable clothing. Azriel to her right, Amren to her left. And Mor and Cassian on both sides of Lucien.

Kaylee had begged for Nesta and Elain to come down, pleading with every fiber of her being for just a second of their time. Just a singular moment to see them. To be held by them. She was met with silence. That silence turned to rage inside of her. She had destroyed her guest room. Screaming as the furniture replaced itself and began to redo the process until Lucien had came to her.

Not her mate.

Not her sisters.

Not even Cassian.

Lucien.

He held her, whispering words of comfort, telling her she was safe. She had not noticed her own hands shifting, but Lucien had, he watched as the tanned skin turned back from the soft blue it was shifting to. As her nails became normal instead of daggers.

Lucien held her until those moments of shaking rage became what they truly were, trembles of sadness.

Sadness from her mate immediately leaving her at the House to go sit with Elain. Sadness from her older sisters ignoring her. Sadness from the sheer agonizing feeling of abandonment setting into her soul and bones.

He held her until that trembling stopped. And then he held her again as he took in those tear stained cheeks and watering ocean eyes.

Lucien understood Kaylee to his core. The youngest sibling left to their own devices and knowledge in a world they hardly understood. He understood that anger, that sadness, that longing to belong.

He saw Kaylee.

He saw her for more than her power, for more than just Feyre's sister. He saw her for her. He saw her brokeness from mistreatment, her exhaustion from being forced to train from breakfast to nightfall.

And he didn't understand how Azriel didn't. The male cared for his mate, that was clear as he filled her plate with more food, kissed her temple, ensured her drink was never empty. But how he did not sense Kaylee's humanity slipping away already was concerning. Lucien leaned back, studying her as Rhysand studied him.

"Something interesting to you, Lucien?"

He shook his head, eyes still on Kaylee as she looked up, small signs from her breakdown still there. "No," he stated calmly. "Just admiring her. She's not something you see everyday."

Rhys nodded in agreement, pride leaking into his voice as he looked at the youngest Archeron sister. His favorite new project. "No. No, she is not." He allowed his beast to touch Kaylee. Stroking that bond between them gently in praise.

Kaylee gave a slight smile, her cheeks flushing slightly at the complement and at Rhysand's otherside almost purring at contact with her.

And, unseen to everyone but Lucien, Azriel began to seethe.

Lucanis Dellamorte x Reader: Late Nights & Delayed Confessions, pt.2

After instructing the tavern keeper to send up ‘whatever is the most expensive food and drink around here’, you excused yourself to freshen up. The room you had been given was at the other end of the long hallway from Lucanis and Illario’s, even though you were absolutely certain most of the rooms were unoccupied on the floor.

You ate, drank and talked for hours. A feeling that you could only describe as home warmed your chest. The little jabs Lucanis and Illario threw at each other, the silly flirtatious remarks from the latter, and the adventurous stories of grandeur, whose only point was trying to top the previous one. Just like always on the nights back in Treviso.

Things had always been like this between you and Illario; you were good friends who tossed flirty jokes around and shared gossip over a bottle of wine. He was… simple. Safe. On the same wavelength. Nothing romantic had ever happened between you nor were you interested in him as such.

Lucanis was like a brother to Illario, so you had formed this tenuous friendship, that was more about having a loved one in common rather than nurturing an actual relationship.

Lucanis was complicated; intelligent, efficient and business-oriented but also loyal to a fault, kind and considerate. He was an expert assassin, but his heart was in the right place. Not to mention you oftentimes had difficulties taking your eyes off him or stopping undressing him in your reveries. Lucanis was an enigma that made you itch and you yearned to scratch that itch. There was just no way it could ever happen and you had accepted it a long time ago. He was the grandson of the First Talon and you were just… you.

But there was also another reason.

You were terrified that one day Illario would realise you had been in love with Lucanis Dellamorte ever since the day you met.

While you ate, Lucanis and Illario told you about the Wigmaker contract in Vyrantium. It had earned Lucanis the moniker ‘Demon of Vyrantium’ and the rumours were already spreading like wildfire. Caterina was surely pleased.

Illario wanted to know more about your recent contracts, as much as you would be able to share. Lucanis tried to reel in his cousin’s eager insisting, ever the picture of a considerate gentleman.

“Fiore, I’m so happy to see you, but I thought you would surely be busy on a contract,” Illario tried again to inquire as to why you really had come to this small harbor town to meet them.

Maybe three glasses of wine was enough. You glanced at Lucanis, instantly regretted it, hoping Illario wouldn’t have noticed, and started talking:

“I am. Busy on a contract.”

“In here?” Lucanis asked, quirking a brow. The tone said all there was to know about the town and the probability of someone hiring an assassin on a target in such a place. There was literally nothing but the fish market, and a small harbor that served as a logistical centre for other towns further inland that couldn’t afford the taxes and expenses issued by larger harbours. Lots of people passed through, hence the fairly nice accommodations, but usually the kind of contracts you were dealing with would never turn their snooty noses towards a place like this.

“Not here. But–”

“The contract knows you’re onto them,” Lucanis ended the lie before you had the opportunity to speak it out loud.

You shrugged in admittance of defeat. It was just like him to follow your line of thought so fast, then just unravel the whole delicately woven web in a single pull.

“Ah, a false sense of security. I like this!” Illario clapped his hands together and patted Lucanis on the back – possibly as a way of congratulating his cousin’s quick wit.

“Also,” you started and cleared your throat, “There was a small incident yesterday, after I arrived in town.”

Lucanis and Illario exchanged looks.

“Who tried to murder you?” Illario asked in jest, but his smile soon dried up.

Lucanis placed his wine cup on the table and straightened up. He looked annoyed and his gaze started instantly scanning the exits in the room.

“I’m not sure,” you replied slowly. A pang of guilt tried to make a rise. “I took him down, but there was nothing on him to indicate if it was an order or a paid attempt. So who knows.”

“We should leave,” Lucanis said, still rigid and looking really unhappy.

“Come now, Lucanis. She said she took care of the amateur,” Illario argued and motioned towards the almost empty wine bottle. “Besides, we can’t leave a bottle unfinished. The Crows’ reputation will be ruined.”

“I’m sure he was working alone. I will be perfectly safe in my room,” you said and tapped the dagger hidden against your side. 

“Which one is your room?” Lucanis asked, just slightly relaxed.

“At the other end of the hallway.” You nodded to the general direction, already sensing where this was heading and it filled you with ominous tingling.

“Speaking of which, I should head to bed.” You started to rise up from the table and avoided both pairs of sharp eyes.

“Are you going to let her sleep alone in a place like this?” Illario teased, looking pointedly at his cousin.

“I can–” you huffed, but Lucanis shot you an intense look. His eyes were so dark and unamused that it shut you up at once.

“He is right,” Lucanis said. “We might not be able to hear you across the whole building if something happens.”

You swatted the words away. Whatever he was implying was not enough to bring you around.

“It’s fine. Seriously. I don’t think the Merchant Princes would waste any more gold on trying off little ol’ me.”

Illario nodded slowly but Lucanis didn’t look convinced.

“You’re a target. We don’t know who is after you, but if it were me, I would strike tonight.” Lucanis pinched the bridge of his nose and continued explaining carefully: “There are no witnesses. The building is only two stories high. No one will look twice at a murder in a place like this.”

You bit your lip. Lucanis was making a good case and perhaps only because you had been thinking about the same points yourself. If the assailant had not been working alone, it was most likely that they would try again before you had the chance to skip town. Maybe they knew you were with two other Crows, maybe they didn’t, but did you really want to risk it to keep your silly pride?

“I’ll accompany you for the night, just to be safe,” Illario said and for once you couldn’t detect a hint of ulterior motives in his tone. Though, the lack of confidence in your abilities stung.

Lucanis stood up and locked eyes with you. A chill rushed through you. He was determined. And maybe a little pissed.

“I’ll go. You didn’t sleep on the ship so you must be exhausted,” he said offhandedly to Illario.

“Always so considerate,” Illario replied with a blatant smirk that Lucanis missed. He too got up and stretched his arms.

You sighed in defeat and popped one of the few remaining grapes into your mouth. You should’ve never brought up the stupid contract. The Merchant Prince would pay extra for arranging this spectacular shit show.

“I will take care of her. Now rest,” Lucanis turned to say to Illario, who he found still smirking.

“Oh, I have no doubt you will.”

Lucanis replied to his cousin with a flat stare. Heat rose to your cheeks and Illario winked at you.

Great. So it was not about being confident in your abilities. He was just trying to push you into making a move on his cousin. You didn’t want to think about what that implied.

“Well, fine then. Shall we?” you asked Lucanis.

He motioned you forward. “Lead the way.”

There was just one problem: your room had only one bed.

❝ EFFORT ❞

MONDAY — JULY 30 — 5:02AM

AFTER AN EVENTFUL DAY OF NEVER COMING OUT OF BELLAMY’S ROOM, BENTLEY WOKE UP ON MONDAY MORNING LAYING BACK TO BACK WITH HIM. 

And the first thing he thought about was Bruce.

He wanted to tell him. He wanted to tell him everything so bad — about the parties and the nightmares and the teachers and Tyler and Chloe and the (maybe?) Secret Keeper and his father. He wanted to just lay it all out at his feet so he didn’t have to deal with it alone anymore… but he couldn’t.

Because if he did, Bruce would come get them and take them home, and someone else would move into the dorm. He’d never see any of them again.

He had to show Bruce that he could do this no matter what kind of problems he had — he was thirteen, and he could deal with his issues by himself. He didn’t always need his dad or his brothers to swoop in and do it for him; he was capable. More than capable.

So for now, he decided, not a Wayne in the world would know a thing. Would it be easier on him if they did? Sure. But getting whisked home to live a life of solitude while every other teenager in the world did whatever they wanted didn’t sound like an ideal situation. Plus, he was pretty sure he’d have lost his mind if he didn’t stop homeschooling when he did.

It was okay. He was okay. Everyone was okay. Everything was okay.

He’d just focus on school — it was a good enough distraction. He did have seven classes to survive, and nine friendships to maintain.

(Or eight, if… Asten didn’t want to talk to him.)

So he decided that’s what he was gonna do. Just be a teenager, and try his best to forget about all the existential dread stuff.

He woke up, blocked the number his father had called him from, and left Bellamy’s room to go get ready. 

It was only a little after five, so he was able to get into his room and do everything he needed without waking Asten up, which was nice — because he wasn’t sure where they stood. They hadn't talked at all since the fight, but Bentley did end up in bed arrest in Bellamy's room, so he guessed it wasn't really either of their faults.

He grabbed his bag and all of his things out of his room and left, shutting the door softly behind him. Should he go back in Bellamy's room? Or just sit and the dining table and do something silent?

That moment was about when his phone vibrated in his hand.

The name on the text message was Chloe Singh. (He'd changed it almost immediately after she gave it to him.) It said: Hey, meet me at the fountain at 530?

He didn't even have time to think about replying before a second one came: Or at breakfast, if you're not a psycho that wakes up at 430 for school like me.

Bentley hummed to himself, typing a quick response.

Just text me when you're ready. I'm already dressed and all.

He hardly had time to look away before another message blipped onto the screen. Oh, okay! I'm ready then, haha.

With a faint little smile and a shrug, Bentley made sure he slid his keycard into his phone case and made for the door, leaving the dorm with his schoolbag in the dark.

When he made it down the stairs and the several sidewalks it took to get to the fountain with the willows, Chloe was already there in her uniform with her bag. Her blonde hair was tied up halfway with a black ribbon, and pin-straight so it looked extra long. She glanced back at him when she heard him approach and sent him a friendly wave, which he returned.

Were they technically friends now? How many times did you have to cry in front of someone before you became friends?

With that on his mind, Bentley made for the bench she was on, dropping his bag near his feet and taking a seat next to her.

"Good morning," She said quietly, eyes focused on campus staff that seemed to be moving something into the art building across the way, past the willow trees.

"Good morning," He replied.

"Listen, I just... wanted to apologize for Saturday night," She sighed, looking down at her lap and deflating slightly, a stark comparison to how confident she looked in class or the halls. "I had a massive breakdown and it was really weird. I word vomited so many unnecessary details."

Bentley shook his head, glancing over at her. "Don't apologize. We all have our moments. I, in particular, have had at least thirty since I moved into Redwood."

Chloe glanced at him, furrowing her brow. "I never imagined Bruce Wayne's heir would have moments."

"I wasn't always his," Bentley shrugged, forcing his father's voice out of his mind, focusing on Chloe's brown eyes that were watching him. "Anyways, it's no problem. Breakdowns suck, but they suck even worse if you're alone."

She blinked and looked away, then back. "That's why I wanted to say thank you," She continued, glancing down at her hands, fiddling with her fingers. "For being there for me. I... can honestly say I don't have anyone else, as pitiful and attention seeking as that sounds. Living a double life is really hard when everyone only knows the fake part."

Bentley watched her breathe in deep, then blow it out. "Anyways, not to get all pitiful. I think I have the rumors handled on my end... my roommates were the only ones who knew I was going to meet you, and they swore they wouldn't say anything. What about yours?"

"Only two know I was gone, and they won't say anything," Bentley shrugged. "I think we're safe."

A beat passed.

"Thank God," Chloe exhaled, brushing her long blonde hair over her shoulder. "I'd never forgive myself if a chimp like Tyler Abbott got ahold of information like that. He'd have the entire campus believing whatever he wanted about us in, like, ten seconds."

Bentley didn't reply.

"Hey, you okay?" She continued, lowering her volume just a little. "You seem preoccupied."

Bentley shook his head in an attempt to shake himself back into the present and out of whatever routine of self loathing his mind was trying to put him in. "Yeah, just pretty drained. I've been really stressed lately."

"I'm sorry..." Chloe mumbled, and Bentley shrugged.

"It's not your fault," He continued, waving her off. "What about you? Were you okay after the other night?"

Chloe shrugged. "Same... just kinda drained. Emotions and their stupid, stupid existence have a way of doing that. But I'm feeling okay now. Practice for cheer tryouts starts after school today, so I pretty much am required to be okay."

A beat passed.

"So... did you and Layla end up having fun at the dance?" She questioned, looking across the way at the willows, a little hint of something he couldn't quite place filtering through into her words.

Bentley shrugged. "It was okay, but I... didn't go with her. I went with my roommates. To see the band that was playing."

"Oh," Chloe nodded to herself.

Another few moments of quiet passed.

"I... wanted to ask you something," Chloe started, turning to face him slightly on the bench, getting this... he wasn't sure. Embarrassed sort of look on her face. "You can totally say no if you want to; I know I'm not the easiest person to stomach."

"What is it?" Bentley questioned, turning toward her a little, too.

Chloe breathed in and out. "I know I was really mean and weird and stuff when we met, and I don't have any clever excuses to talk myself out of that. But I still... wanna be friends with you, if you want."

Bentley watched her nervously tuck a piece of hair behind her left her, her brown eyes straying down to the bench they were on.

"Yeah... I'd like that," Bentley replied, watching her anxiously pick at her nails. "But you... I don't want it to be some kind of ploy for your mom. If we're gonna be friends, I just... want to be friends. Not for anybody else."

"A hundred percent," Chloe nodded. "She won't have a clue I'm even talking to you anymore. She seems to have moved on in her searching for my perfect future divorce since I blew it with you already. Which means we're in the clear."

Bentley hummed in acknowledgment, glancing at her for a moment more before looking out at the trees again. "Can I ask an awkward question?"

"Sure," Chloe shrugged. "Can't be more awkward than me word vomiting my entire life's story, and my mothers."

Bentley found it in himself to chuckle at that. "I was just... wondering. Since you were only kinda acting, did you... mean what you told me? In class?"

Chloe glanced over at him quickly, her brow furrowed, before she seemed to realize what he meant. Her face flushed pink and she looked the other way. "That you're hot? I-I mean, yeah, I guess..."

Bentley didn't say anything.

"God, why can't I talk to you?" She mumbled, resting her elbows on her knees and dropping her head into her hands with a nervous little laugh. "It's so weird. Being, like, real. I always know what to say when I'm pretending."

Bentley shrugged. "Maybe you should... not pretend."

"I can't do that!" She said suddenly, sitting up. "My mother would disown me if I even thought about acting contrary to how she wants."

Bentley hummed. "How does she know what you act like here at school?"

Chloe looked up at him, a cringe spreading across her face. "She's the assistant Dean. She lives on campus."

Bentley blinked. "Oh..."

"Yeah..." Chloe shook her head. "I literally can't get away from her and her prying eyes through the school-day. That's why I wanted to talk to you now, before the day starts."

Bentley couldn't even imagine his father watching him like a hawk like that. When he first went to the Wayne's to, quote-on-quote, destroy them, he could hardly fathom the anxiety caused by the fact that his father may have possibly been watching. But Chloe's mom, putting her up to something out of greed, punishing her when she failed, watching her to make sure she was perfect... maybe they weren't so different after all.

Bentley didn’t say anything for a few minutes.

“So, are you liking it so far, here? I’ve heard Gotham is way different from New York,” She questioned. (How many times was he going to be asked that question?)

He shrugged. “New York is really cool. I like it here. It feels more… alive.”

Chloe nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “There’s so much that goes on, it's hard to get away from it all. That's why I like it so much here.”

Another beat passed.

“So, if it's not off limits, what are your powers?” Bentley questioned, glancing over at her. “I haven’t seen or heard anything about them.”

“Oh, I…” Chloe started, looking off at the trees ahead of them. “I… uh…”

Bentley could recognize discomfort when he saw it. “You don’t have to tell me.”

“No, I just…” She trailed off, breathing deep and holding it for a second, then exhaling. “I don’t have any.”

Bentley furrowed his brow. Wasn’t Redwood only for metahumans?

“My sisters do, and I have the genes for it, I just… they… haven’t appeared yet. My mom says that sometimes it takes a lot to make them show up,” Chloe shrugged. 

Bentley vaguely remembered hearing something about that when he was dealing with the whole Dr. Keene disaster -- it was like how Nico’s super speed only started to show up after he learned he was adopted, and only really showed up after he got kidnapped and put in a big machine that messed with his DNA. He remembered that metahumans finding their powers was… usually due to trauma.

He wasn’t quite sure what that said about the rest of the Redwood students. But maybe it was a good thing that Chloe didn’t have hers.

“I guess we’ll just have to see, then,” Bentley shrugged.

“I guess so…”

They fell into a comfortable silence, looking out at the willow trees in front of them.

Okay.. maybe Bentley had ten friendships to maintain.

When breakfast came around, Bentley sat across the table from Asten.

They didn’t say anything to each other. Bentley looked over at him a few times, but he was always talking to Rockie, or looking down at the table, or across the room. Valor was watching the both of them -- Bentley noticed his gaze a few times, calculating, contemplating -- but when Bentley’s eyes met his, it always switched to a supportive smile, faint enough to go missed by everyone else but present enough to be a little comforting.

Bentley and Asten didn’t talk at lunch, either.

And when music theory came around, Asten only spoke to Rockie, and Bentley only spoke to Vera, and in free period, Asten sat with Rockie, and Bellamy and Valor sat with Bentley. It was…

Weird.

He went to practice soccer with Varian and Koa, and they talked about nothing and everything. He went to dinner, where Asten deliberately ignored him even though they were within whispering distance from one another. And then he did his homework at the dining table, and listened to his roommates talk, and hung out, and texted Chloe, and went to bed without saying anything to his best friend who was sleeping one bunk away.

As wrong as it felt, Bentley was the one who’d been right. Asten was a hypocrite and all the lovely things Bentley had said in his anger fueled haze. So, for this one time, for the first time in his life, he wasn’t going to allow himself to apologize.

If Asten wanted to talk to him, Asten was going to have to put in the effort.

And as far as Bentley could tell, right now, he didn’t care very much.

Danny Phantom is a semi episodic animated series from the early 2000's. This means that there isn't much continuity in between and there are ideas that don't get explored more than one episode. Having that in mind, i'm going to highlight what i think are the ¨key¨ episodes from the show related to major plot points and character arcs like this.

I would still suggest watching all the episodes to have an overall idea of the characters, world and lore to interact with the fandom.

Season 1

1)"Mystery Meat": Introduction to the premise, world and characters. Introduction to Lunch Lady. Start with this one. 2)"Parental Bonding": Introduction to overshadowing, exploration of Sam's character and her relationship with Danny. Introduction to Princess Dorathea. Exploration of Paulina's character. 3) "One of a Kind": Introduction to Skulker, one of the recurrent villains of the show. Introduction to the idea of Danny trying to help ghosts instead of fighting them in some episodes. 11) "Fanning the Flames": Exploration of Danny and Sam's feelings for each other. Introduction to Ember McLain as antagonist. 12) "Teacher of the Year": Exploration of Mr.Lancer, Danny's teacher as character. Technus returns as antagonist. 13) "Fright Night": Introduction to the Fright Night character, connected to major future plot point. Danny and Dash Baxter centric episode. Halloween episode. 14) "13": Introduction to Johnny 13 and Kitty characters. Danny and Jazz centric episode. 15) "Public Enemies": Walker returns as antagonist, takes over the town and turns the city against Danny (Phantom). Introduction to Wolf character, who becomes of the first Danny's ghost allies. 16) "Lucky in Love": Exploration Casper High popular kids students, mainly Paulina. Johnny 13 and Kitty as antagonists. 17) "Maternal Instinct": Vlad's villain arc- Danny and Maddie episode. Maddie finds out about Vlad's true intentions with her but not about him being half ghost. Introduction to Specter Deflector invention. 18) "Life Lessons": Valerie's arc- Important development for Valerie and Danny's characters and their relationship. Skulker as main antagonist. 19) "The Million Dollar Ghost": Vlad's villain arc-Jack and Danny episode- acts as set up for major future plot point. Introduction to Guys In White, a anti-ghost hunters organization. 20) "Control Freaks": Danny and Sam's centric episode-exploration of Sam's family and her relationship with her parents. Introduction to Freakshow, a human who can control ghosts. Shows Danny being mind controlled and acting like a villain.

Season 2

1)¨Memory Blank¨: Paulina making connection between Danny and Phantom, otherwise it doesn't add much to the series. Sam and Danny episode- Desiree as antagonist. 2) "Doctor's Disorders": Tucker centric episode. Explores the idea of humans getting ghostpowers by ¨ghost disease¨. Spectra returns as antagonist. 3) "Pirate Radio": Introduction to Youngblood. Ember and Youngblood team up as antagonists. Character development for Danny and exploration of Danny's classmates. 4-5) "Reign Storm": Very crucial special episode that pays off character arcs and plot points from Season 1. Vlad's villain character arc-major development for Danny and Valerie as characters and their relationship. Introduction to Pariah Dark, Ghost Zone's backstory and Ghost King lore. 6) "Identity Crisis": Pretty good exploration of Danny's character, explores the concept of how a human-ghost can live separated from their ghost half. Technus as antagonist. 7) "The Fenton Menace": Danny and Jazz episode. Younblood as antagonist. 8-9) "The Ultimate Enemy": Another crucial key special episode from the show. Introduction to Dark Danny/Dan Phantom (fanon name) as antagonist and the idea of Danny turning evil in the future. Important for Danny's arc. Introduction to Clockwork, Master of Time and his superiors, the Observants. Important exploration of Vlad's character. Danny learns about Jazz knowing about his ghost half and their dynamic changes from here. 10) "The Fright Before Christmas": Christmas episode- Introduces the Ghost Writer and Christmas Truce between ghosts. 11) "Secret Weapons": Vlad's villain episode, acts as follow up for both ¨Reign Storm¨ and ¨The Ultimate Enemy¨. Jazz learns about Vlad being half-ghost. Jazz and Danny episode. 12) "Flirting with Disaster": Follow up from ¨Reign Storm¨. Valerie Gray arc-Danny and Valerie temporarily date in this episode. Valerie gets a suit upgrade. Technus as antagonist. 13) "Micro Management": Explores Danny and Dash's dynamic. Skulker as antagonist. 14) "Beauty Marked": Sam centric episode- Exploration of Dorathea's realm- Prince Aragon as antagonist. 15) "King Tuck": Tucker centric episode-Explores the idea of Tucker being descendant of an egyptian pharaoh and having some possible ghost powers (?) Hotep-Ra as antagonist. 16) "Masters of All Time": Clockwork returns as character- It... doesn't add much to the series but it explores an alternative timeline of what if Jack had turned into half-ghost instead. 17) "Kindred Spirits": Vlad's villain arc- reveal of why he has been using Valerie for all this time- deep exploration to Vlad's motivations as villain- Introduction to Danielle character. Acts as the ¨actual¨ finale for Season 2 18) "Double Cross My Heart": Sam and Danny episode. GIW as antagonists 19-20) "Reality Trip": Freakshow returns as antagonist. Introduction to the Reality Gauntlet. Exploration to how Jack and Maddie would react to finding out that Danny is a ghost. Even though things revert back to the status quo by then end, some of the concepts it explores are interesting.

Season 3

1)"Eye for an Eye": Vlad's villain arc-Change of the status quo. Vlad moves to Amity Park and becomes the mayor. 2) "Infinite Realms": Vlad's villain arc. Introduction to the Infi-Map and the Far Frozen yetis. Introduction to Frostbite character 3) "Girls' Night Out": Spectra, Ember and Kitty villain team up. Skulker as secondary antagonist. Some interesting development between Jazz and Sam. 4) "Torrent of Terror": Vlad's villain arc. Introduction to Vortex. Dany and Vlad work together in this episode. 5) "Forever Phantom": Introduction to Amorpho. Interesting exploration of Danny's character- an episode worth of watching. 6) "Urban Jungle": Introduction to Undergrowth. Danny gets ice powers and exploration of ghosts cores. 7) "Livin' Large": Episode that explores the idea of the Fentons becoming rich- GIW as antagonists. 8) "Boxed-Up Fury": Introduction to Pandora and Pandora's box. Box Ghost as antagonist 9) "Frightmare": Introduction to Nocturn as antagonist. 10) "Claw of the Wild": Wolf returns this episode. Walker as antagonist. 11) "D-Stabilized": Vlad's villain arc- Important episode for Valerie and Danielle character arcs- Valerie finds out about Vlad being half ghost. 12-13) "Phantom Planet": Series finale- conclusion to Danny's arc and Vlad's villain arc. Danny's identity as Phantom gets revealed to the whole world as Vlad's does. Vlad is exiled from Earth with everyone knowing about his ghost identity and villain nature. Danny and Sam become a couple. Gets followed up in ¨A Glitch in Time¨ Graphic novel.

Some of my head cannons for luffy

-Wavy hair but he rarely lets it get past his shoulders mostly a short shag

-Brook often styles luffy outfits

-He has freckles but not manny just a few big ones

-(I love his little running thing with Hercules beetles I think he loves them most but generally has a fascination with bugs)

-Ppl often make the mistake of thinking sending Robin out to a new island with luffy means everything will be fine but they often have to leave islands early bc of the Kaos the two get into while out together

-Has a tattoo on his back (its the one from the official art where they all have tattoos I just really like that one but I don’t really see luffy having many visible tattoos) ofc he got it after meeting law on the low luffy is a big copy cat

-He had his ears pierced (5 in total. Each side both have the standard done but one side has a singular cartilage done and the other has double) it’s a family thing so Garp, dragon, sabo, and ace all have at least their standard lobb pierced.

-He doesn’t drink much not for any real deep reason, and especially won’t drink Sake with random people, only his crew on rare occasions bc of the significance with his brothers.

-Isn’t a good cleaner but not bc he doesn’t try he’s just genuinely not good. Sanji and him spent so much time in the kitchen together eventually he was a bit above average at helping in the kitchen, everywhere else he’s horrible at

-His rooms is moderately decorate but the area in his room with the most attention is the photo wall area

-The crew hold a spa day once a month (mostly in part bc nami got so tried of the collective lack of care from certain crew mates *camera dramatically pans to zoro and luffy*) when they do nail polish luffy is always matching with someone bc he can never just pick one color

-Big big hugger, don’t even try to run it will only make the hug more intense

-Unibrow king, it naturally thins toward the center but it’s definitely there

-He may not be much of a trinket keeper cause he’s always moving so much from place to place after merry he was more strict with what came in and out of his room but if you give him something he’ll keep it for as long as possible. I know we see that with his straw hat but in other aspects to like you go to put some of his laundry away and see a pen you lent him a long time ago laying around.

-Luffy hates to be still for to long but if someone on the crew is sick you’ll usually find him near them or if they will allow it lying in bed right next to them and be really gaf bout getting sick, he just wants to be there for his friends

-Because there can be a lot of dead time out at sea Robin taught him to crochet but he only knows one pattern and that’s a fish and he refuses to learn more patterns bc the first one was so hard. Now though on particular boring days random crochet fishes will pop up around the sunny

-Someone once called chopper a pet and got flung cross the island

-He doesn't have a favorite flower but whenever the town/island ppl give them gifts after the crew helps them without fail luffy always ends up with sunflowers.

-He has sharp k-9s ( no one knows this put him and nami both have a matching gold tooth there isn’t even any big reason either they were out shopping on day and nami seen a beautiful women with a grill and convinced luffy to get one tooth done with her )

-Ussop makes his jesus sandals

-Sabo and him penpal cause Sabo wanted to be more up to date with his little brother in as many ways a possible and the den den Mushi calls weren’t cutting it . Sabo’s are nicely done and always have a cute photo of something he’s seen while luffys just always written on the back of a wanted poster of people he knows and luffys always sends him a sea shell from each island

-Luffy loves a good sweet but he also loves his friends more and chopper’s favorite food category is sweets so when they’re on island luffy always gets him the last piece of a really good sweet.

-He can sleep anywhere, once Franky found him alseep standing up and it scared ts outta him

-He has a Portuguese (Spanish if you think of him more as the live action) accent but rarely get to actually speak Portuguese so when he does he’s even more excited.

-He’s taught the crew enough to understand him and respond, Sanji on the other hand knows Spanish and argues with him all the time.

-When him and Sabo are on the phone they speak in Portuguese exclusively

-Always giving ppl the middle finger

-Sometimes he just won’t want to sleep alone and the crew will randomly wake up with him snuggled up to them, locked doors will not stop him.

-Zoro try’s to get the crew to train with him sometimes and fails but he has a trick up his sleeve for each member to get them to train. He got luffy bc he turns it into a game, only downside for zoro is he does genuinely have to come up with a prize each time for luffy

-I know the street love ace luffy and I can see it but I can also see the he gets bitches angle, I’m more of a middle man with this and that he got moves but barely cares to put them into actions and most times doesn’t

-On sight when it comes to insulting his loved one like the person barely can finish letting out the insult (or whatever) b4 luffy on they ass

-He’s bad with dates but big on birthdays, like the one number he can always remember without fail and will have a lil sum arranged

-Jimbei luffy favorite nap partner and they be going Olympic when it comes to taking long ass naps on sunny days

If the spnepisodebracket craze has shown us anything, it's that the supernatural fanbase is extremely divided, with the lowly sam stan seemingly at the bottom of the pile. sam is always last in polls, so this is a bracket for the 10% or so who always votes for him. because yeah, there's 327 episodes of Supernatural, but how many are popular because of a dean or destiel moment? how many good episodes are drowned out because they focus on sam?

i've chosen, with some crowdsourced peer review (special thanks to @spneveryseason, @suncaptor, and @ambersock!) 125 episodes that are Sam Relevant. Some are extremely sam-centric, some just have a shot where sam looks like he's being crucified that gives me brain worms -- i tried to be generous about it to keep a relatively even seasons distribution! matchups will be random and polls will last 24 hours each. in the tradition of @spnepisodebracket (who this is obviously inspired by and would not be possible without!) i'll try to rb a gifset for every episode in the poll!

Intro

The eldest sister of Sunday and Robin, Dove never believed in The Family or Gopher Wood.

After a falling out with both Gopher Wood and Sunday, she defected from The Family and left Penacony entirely, eventually finding her way onto the Astral Express.

Sunday didn't exactly approve of her before she left. She'd gotten many, many piercings, a large tattoo on her arm trailing up to her neck, and overall had started distancing herself from The Family more and more until the argument came.

However, she never truly kept her eyes off of Sunday and Robin. She couldn't, her instincts as an older sister prevented her from completely cutting them off. So she watched them in secret, kept tabs on her precious siblings.

Her Little Morning Doves, as she would call them.

Character Relationships

Sunday, her younger brother. The last time she saw him before she defected from Penacony, she had gotten into an argument with him and Gopher Wood.

Robin, her little sister. She didn't see her the day she defected from Penacony, so she's missed her very much.

Caelus/Stelle (Trailblazer), good friends. She had been part of the Astral Express crew for about 5 years already when they came around, and they get along fairly well with her. She calls them a trash panda affectionately.

March 7th, good friends. She sees her as a younger sister, and loves to take photos with her. She has a whole album full of pictures March has taken. She won't make the mistake of forgetting how they look again.

Dan Heng, very good friends. They have a strange platonic chemistry together. Dan Heng is curious about the Halovian species, and Dove enjoys his comforting silent presence. They often sit in the passenger car at night when they both have nightmares, just silently sitting together. She couldn't bear to burden him with her struggles after learning of his own.

Himeko, mother figure. She didn't have a mother figure she could remember, and Himeko acts like what she expected a mother to act like. She doesn't want to cling to her but it's so hard not to. She misses her mama.

Welt Yang, somewhat of a father figure. She finds him easy to talk to and have intelligent, civil discussions with. The complete opposite of what she had with Gopher Wood.

Mr. Reca, good friends and lovers. She's not even sure how she fell for him. His enthusiasm drew her in. Not to mention how good at acting she is, that caught his attention. If only he knew how she got so good.

Aventurine, good friends. They met and got to know each other through Sunday. She admires his personality and his relentless "optimism". She also sees how they both broke out of gilded cages.
